Mononoke Hime .. Introduction

Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke) is a stunning movie created by the well known Studio Ghibli and the creative genius of Hayao Miyazaki. The movie is set as an alternate-world ending to their well-known earlier film Nausicaa.

The movie tells the tale of Ashitaka, a boy who is forced to leave his village after a god's attack leaves him cursed. He travels to find a forest and a nearby town, in which the inhabitants of each are in a battle to the death for their own reasons... here, he must find a cure for his curse, and a solution for both sides. It paints an elaborate tale of not-so-evil versus not-so-good and nature versus man, a welcome change from the usual battle of right and wrong. All up, a beautiful film suitable for most ages (save for one or two spots of brief violence); beautiful setting, animation and music that come together to make an epic film, a masterpiece of the anime genre.
