Photon .. Introduction

Photon - one of the lesser-known animes around, though quite enjoyable. It spanned only a short six-episode OAV series; I'm unaware of any manga or other episodes associated with it.

Photon is of the comedy genre, telling the story of a little-known planet and its primitive inhabitants. Photon, a boy from this planet, is sent out to retrieve a friend, and gets entangled in a marriage and an intergalactic fight for a legacy of magic powers. Aside from the gratuitous nudity throughout, it was a very funny series - a society with a religion based around felt-tip pens? Characters ending up married because someone wrote "idiot" on their forehead? An anime for older audiences only, but highly recommended, and very much worthwhile to see!
